Christmas Gift Giving to Children in the USA and Where the Wise Men Came from

We, the adults, can live without Christmas gifts.  It is a completely different story, though, when it comes to giving gifts to children for Christmas.  For one reason or another presents, especially the ones for Christmas, have a very special meaning which goes far beyond regular generosity.

Long gone are the times when a gift was just a symbol of appreciation and anything would do.  Nowadays we sprinkle or even shower our off-springs with an avalanche of souvenirs, and rightly so.

The Christmas gift giving tradition reaches as far back as the inception of Christianity - the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.

Who doesn’t know the biblical story of the three wise men who came to greet the newly born savior and paid their tribute to the new King of Kings?  It turns out, however, that a modern analysis reveals some interesting details of where the wise men came from and how many of them.
