TOEFL – American English Language Test

When you apply to a college in the USA, you need a proof that your American English is good enough.  You will be required to take TOEFL and submit the score.

TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language.  This is practically the only exam you need to take to prove your efficiency in American English.  It is recognized world-wide.

TOEFL is different from British English language efficiency tests.  Contrary to its European equivalents TOEFL checks how well you can use the language, not how much you know about it.  In other words it verifies your practical command of the tongue as opposed to the theoretical knowledge of the grammar and archaic vocabulary nobody uses anymore.

Everybody passes TOEFL!  Even “0” on the scale from 0 to 120 is a “passing” score.  The trick is you need between 70 and 90 points for most universities to be admitted.  How do you do that?  You need to practice.  Speech is a very important part of your overall score.  How do you start?  By doing it.  Just start talking.  American English, of course.

Talk to you later …

See ya …
